Garbanzo Dry Roasted Chickpeas Review:

Are you prepared for the first review on the blog? Yes? Good.

Chickpeas are quite a staple in my daily diet. Not only do they have numerous health benefits, but they're one of the most versatile ingredients to have on hand. Since I discovered them a few years ago, I have created extraordinary things. Brownies, omelettes, meringues, even ice cream (See my previous post for details). However, sometimes, you just want something simple.

 [Enter roasted chickpeas]

Today, I will introduce you to one of my favourite go-to snacks. I found them, on one of my many hunts for healthy products, in Holland and Barrett quite a while ago. Ever since, I have haunted my local shop whenever I needed to replenish my personal stock.

The range includes flavours, such as Thai Sweet Chilli, Tomato, Garlic and Herb and Bombay Firecracker.

Each flavours has its own brightly coloured packet, and all have various quotes, so that there is no mistake that these are a healthy alternative to conventional snacks.

Upon opening the packet, I was met with a delectable aroma of garlic, onion and various other savoury scents. It was not overpowering, nor was it subtle.

The chickpeas, themselves, were small and were coated in seasoning. They have a satisfying crunch and the flavours compliment those of the chickpeas. When I offered around, one of the 'taste testers' remarked that they tasted somewhat like pizza toppings. Another said they were slightly bland, but would be good in a salad or used in place of croutons in soups.

One thing I love about these is that there always seems to be so many in a packet. Alluding to one of the quotes on the front, 'Stay Fuller For Longer' is quite right. After a serving of these, you won't need anything else for a while.

Nutrition wise, there are no artificial ingredients or undesirables.

I do love these chickpeas. They're crunchy, flavoursome (to me, at least) and leave me feeling full and satisfied. My favourite would have to be the Thai Sweet Chilli flavour, but the Tomato comes in at a close second. I shall review the Bombay Firecracker as soon as possible.

Garbanzo Dry Roasted Chickpeas are currently available at Holland and Barrett and Amazon.co.uk.
